Background
The Milkyway Adventure Park is North devon's biggest attraction. With rollercoasters, indoor play areas, live shows and various sporting activities - there's something for everyone. The park is well know nationally as being THE attraction to visit whilst in Devon, and made it as a finalist in the 2009 South West Tourism Awards in the 'Best Visitor Attraction' category.

Project Brief
The Milkyway Adventure Park wanted to overhaul their existing webiste to give it a fun, appealing and contemporary feel with an intuitive way for users to purchase tickets online. They also wanted the flexibility to manage the content, including the images and ticketing rates.

We deployed the lastest in User Centred Design (UCD) techniques to help funnel users through the content and ultimately fullfill the website's main objective - to book tickets online. We held Multi Variant Testing workshops on the targeted demographic to monitor how users reacted to different design variations and elements within the pages. This enabled us to work out how best to convert "lookers to bookers".

There is a wealth of content and information on the website that had to be presented in a fun and engaging way that appealed to both kids and parents alike. Our dedicated Information Architect organised the content in a sensical order so that the relevant content is presented to the user in a timely manner, helping to make sure that the salient information is never further than a click away.

The Outcome
The website was launched in March 2009 and has received a massive amount of attention from users and the regional press, with positive feedback continously being given. Within the first 3 months, the website had already exceeded the client's expectations in visitor traffic and online bookings. The website has since gone from strength to strength.

The client has full control of the content, tickets rates, special offers and news. They also take advantage of our VisionMailer system which allows them to send out email campaigns, manage subscriber lists and view statistic on who's opened the email and what links they've clicked on. This can then be tracked using their existing Analytics software which provides us - and the client - with a holistic perspective on how users find the website and their navigational flow though it.

We carry out ongoing work with the Milkyway Theme Park to provide a cohesive and comprehenisve online marketing analysis which aids us in maxinmising the website's potential and increasing the number of tickets sold online.
