CASE STUDY

Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall

Discover how and where the world's greatest playwright, William Shakespeare, spent his school years and first experienced theatre.

WEBSITE GOALS:

Following restoration of the Schoolroom in the Guildhall, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall wanted to promote the space where Shakespeare was educated as a visitor attraction and venue. The key website goals were:

  • Design a website that showcases the historic architecture and imagery from the Guildhall.
  • Promote the attraction by providing an overview of the culture and heritage of the location, through easy to navigate sections that lead the visitor through an online 'guided tour', while ensuring ticketing links remain visible throughout in a non-intrusive way.
  • Highlight the attraction as a venue for school trips, and as a room to hire for a private function with a unique feel.
  • Provide an easy to use CMS to manage the website's content, including an easy way to keep news and events regularly updated.
