CASE STUDY

Seaton Tramway

Seaton Tramway offers a unique way to explore 3 miles of the Axe Valley countryside. On their narrow gauge heritage tram, you can travel between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton all along the River Exe estuary.

The staff at Seaton Tramway returned to us to get a revamp and a redesign for their website, giving the site a new lease of life.

The golden age of travel

Seaton Tramway wanted to provide as much useful information for their visitors as possible. The new functionality includes a colour-coded timetable, an interactive map, and a webcam feed. All of these help improve the website user experience whilst reassuring and informing potential visitors.

The new website also has an Events & Experience page which helps showcase some of the exciting events coming up in the future. When you click through to an event there is more information about each event and how to book.

Enhancing the technical functionality is a lovely website design that evokes memories of the past and the golden age of travel whilst remaining modern and fresh.

From ticket to tram

The main goal of the website is to boost ticket conversions. Seaton Tramway wanted their new website to provide loads of useful information whilst ultimately making it really easy for people to book tickets.

The website was designed to provide as many links and handy integrations as possible for them to showcase and sell tickets to website visitors.

A key part of boosting conversions was to be mobile-first with the site design. As around 4 out of every 5 website visitors are on a mobile device, the website needed to work well on all types of devices, especially mobile devices.

We have helped Seaton Tramway get a website that helps inform visitors, leads them to book tickets and ends up with them having a wonderful trip on a tram!

Keeping the site up-to-date

A great website only stays great if it can be easily edited. With our CMS powering their website, Seaton has a simple, personal editing experience.

Changing page content, adding new events and updating their timetable can all be done seamlessly from within the CMS. What’s more, when Seaton requires more content to be made editable, we can adapt the CMS to suit their needs. They can have access to edit whatever they need to, no more, no less!
